In a faraway kingdom, in a distant realm, there lived a king. And he had three daughters. Three beloved princesses. But the king was always upset, and he greatly disliked that his beautiful daughters were constantly at odds with one another, bickering. They quarrelled always and everywhere: at dinner, on walks, when visiting.
One day during another row, something extraordinary happened. Outside the window it suddenly became dark, a terrible thunderstorm broke out, a bright lightning bolt struck. And the princesses turned into... dogs.
In the evening, before bed, the king went to his daughters to wish them sweet dreams. But his beloved daughters were nowhere to be found; instead, three little dogs were sitting there. The king couldn't imagine that these were his beloved princesses and drove them out of the kingdom.
The princesses wandered about the countryside for a long time until they stumbled into a great dense forest. Everything here was new and unfamiliar to them. One sister-dog got her paw stuck in a tree crevice. No matter how hard she tried to pull it out — nothing worked.
Unexpectedly, another sister-dog came up to her, and she felt such pity for her sister that, without hesitating long, she helped pull her paw out. Oh, a miracle!!! The little dog who had offered help immediately turned back into a girl!
And so they continued on. Two dogs walked ahead, and behind them — a princess girl. Suddenly an old man with a large basket of mushrooms appeared in their path. All at once the old man tripped on a branch, fell, and the basket of mushrooms scattered all over the clearing.
One of the little dogs quickly rushed to help the old man. She gave him her paw and the old man got up. The little dog picked up the basket and gathered all the mushrooms. The old man expressed his gratitude, and once again an extraordinary miracle occurred: the little dog turned into a princess.
Now two sister-princesses walked along with one dog. But suddenly the little dog pricked up her ears: somewhere far away someone was crying. She quickly rushed towards the sound of weeping. On a small stump sat a little boy. He was very frightened, all alone, and was crying because he didn't know how to get out of the thick dense forest.
The little dog's heart ached, she felt such pity for the boy. The little dog showed him the way, accompanying him all the way home. And once again a miracle happened! In that very instant the last little dog became a princess girl.
The three sisters set off for their kingdom. They had missed their father the king very much, so they told him all about their adventures.
The king was delighted at his daughters' return and made them promise that they would never quarrel or bicker again.
And the adventure became a good lesson for the sisters.
