Once upon a time there was a princess, and her name was Mila. She lived together with her dad and mum, her parents were a king and queen. The princess lived in an enormous, beautiful castle. In her courtyard grew many different plants, from ordinary shrubs to exotic fruits. Mila had a nanny named Amina. The little princess was very fond of her nanny, as she was very kind, caring and sweet.
One day Mila decided to go for a walk. She walked along a path for a long time and met a boy named Vitya, who was 9 years old—the same age as Mila.
Vitya approached Mila and asked:
Hello, girl, what's your name?
The princess replied to him:
Mila, and what's your name?
I'm Vitya, — the boy answered, — Where are you going?
I just decided to take a walk, — Mila told him, — Because, you know, I don't really feel like walking around my castle for the five-hundredth time again.
Are you a princess? — Vitya asked.
Yes, how did you guess?
Well, you said the castle was yours, so I thought you must be a princess.
Ah, well that makes sense. Vitya, would you like to come to my place for tea?
I would, but will they let an ordinary person into the castle?
I don't know, but I think they will.
Mila and Vitya approach the castle, and Nanny Amina runs out to meet them, shouting:
The castle is on fire! Don't go in there, or you'll perish!
Mila was very frightened for her parents and even cried. But not even 5 minutes passed before she saw that her dad and mum were arriving in a fire engine to put out the fire. Mila was very relieved that the king and queen were alive.
The fire was extinguished, but the castle had burned down almost completely. And suddenly Vitya said:
Let me ask my dad, and he'll build you a new castle.
Yes! — Mila cried out, — So your dad is a builder?
Yes, a builder.
Boy, who are you, and what are you doing here? — the queen asked.
Mum, this is my friend Vitya, I met him when I went for a walk — the princess replied.
Well, alright then, since you say your dad is a builder, take us to him, and we'll pay him any amount of money to build the castle! — the king said to Vitya.
Dad, open the door, the king has come to ask you to build him a castle.
Alright, I'll build you a castle, but let it be next to my house, so the children can see each other and play every day.
Excellent, — said the king, — Then let's start construction tomorrow, and I'll help you a bit.
They walk and walk and come to a beautiful little house. This house has painted walls, a lilac slate roof and a rainbow door. Vitya approached the door, knocked on it and said:
The door opens, and the boy's father comes out. The king, queen, Mila and Vitya enter the house and tell the builder the whole story of what happened. Konstantin (that was Vitya's dad's name) thought and said:
Evening came, and the royal family was invited to stay the night at Konstantin and Vitya's house.
The next day, from early morning, the builder and the king got up, had breakfast and set to work. Within 1 week they built a new castle and moved in.
From the day Mila and Vitya met, they were best friends for life.
Many years passed. The children turned 13, 15, 20, 25 years old, and they still remain very good friends. Their friendship continues to this day.
