In a remote village nestled in the mountains, there lived a poor peasant who dreamed of becoming a musician. After saving enough money, he purchased a wooden flute from a local shop.
At first, the peasant could only produce hissing sounds from the flute, but he did not give up and practiced playing every day.
Over time, he learned to play so skillfully that the bright melodies of the flute delighted the ears, and the hearts of even the grumpiest villagers would smile when they heard the beautiful music.
But one fine evening, when the flute was producing its enchanting sounds, a king from a neighboring kingdom was passing by the village on important business and became captivated by the musician's extraordinary playing.
Seeing the peasant, he stopped his chariot and called him over.
When the peasant approached, the king asked:
Who are you?
I am a shepherd,
replied the peasant.
And what is this wonderful melody coming from your flute?
asked the king.
I composed it myself,
said the peasant.
The king asked the peasant to play once more.
The peasant agreed, took out his flute, and began to play.
The melody produced by the flute was so tender and touching that the king and his entire court felt their hearts tremble. And when the peasant finished playing, each of them could not hold back their tears.
How beautiful are the sounds of your flute!
said the king.
I have never heard anything like it. Would you not like to become my court musician? I will reward you generously for your playing.
Oh, Your Majesty!
replied the peasant.
Of course! With great pleasure! I am honored to serve you in this way!
And the peasant was taken to the palace, where he delighted people with his magnificent playing.
From that day on, he lived long and happily.
Remember, children! Never give up in the face of difficulties, and then you will achieve your goals.
