In a certain kingdom there lived a princess. She was an ordinary girl, just a bit disobedient—like all children her age.
And his teeth are enormous, and he breathes fire! Whoever ends up with him faces certain death!
The queen mother always told Angelina.
And the princesses who end up with the dragon are those who don't brush their teeth in the morning and don't finish their soup.
The king father would add.
At first, Angelina was truly afraid of the dragon who lived "in that tower to the north." But years passed, the girl grew older, and her curiosity slowly began to eclipse her fear. And then she secretly made a bet with the kids—the guards' children: could she go to the dragon? Or was she a coward?
But she was a princess! A real one! Her name was even written on the family tree. So being a coward and backing down was not in her interest.
Waiting until mom and dad left for one of their incredibly boring meetings, Angelina snatched a couple of apples from the kitchen and set off. She walked for a long time, and although the distance was actually small, making her way through the forest thicket in her pretty shoes proved to be no easy task.
But she was a princess! And so, just a couple of hours later, she stood at the tower of dark brick. She looked around—and the dragon was nowhere to be seen. She was about to snort that it was all just tales, but then a light flickered in the high window.
WHO HAS COME TO ME?
A thunderous voice rang out. Instantly, Angelina forgot about her status. She shrank back, trembling.
I-I-I-I.
She answered in a trembling voice.
AND WHAT DO YOU WA... Ahem-ahem... AND WHAT... Ahem-ahem... AND WHAT DO YOU WANT... Achoo!
And suddenly, from somewhere in the tower, a little dragon with green wings tumbled out.
At first Angelina froze in bewilderment, and then she burst out laughing.
And what are you laughing at?
The dragon rumbled, offended.
You're still so little!
The girl explained through tears of laughter.
And everyone scared me, saying if I don't brush my teeth, you'll bite me.
Well, I might be able to bite, hmm. Especially if you don't listen to your mother. She's saying the right thing, she wants what's best for you.
Yes, I know, I know. But that soup is so tasteless... Oh well. Tell me about yourself instead.
And the princess didn't notice how a whole day passed—they were so engrossed. And only when the sunset painted the sky crimson did she realize—she had to go, or they'd notice she was missing.
Well, I should probably go.
The girl waved her hand.
Oh... Well, you know... Come again. It's so boring sitting here alone.
The dragon confessed.
Angelina nodded and smiled as she left. Now she knew that she had made a new Friend.
