Once upon a time there lived a boy named Anton. And he was like all boys — a bit mischievous, playful and cheerful. However, he knew his limits — he helped his mom, did his homework diligently, and even cleaned his room sometimes.
But Anton had only one flaw: he didn't value his toys at all. Whatever his parents bought him, everything got broken.
Mom would bring home a huge transformer, and Anton would leave it on a bench.
Dad would buy an imported tank, and the boy would immediately take it apart and throw away the pieces.
And no matter how much mom and dad tried, Anton wouldn't treat his toys respectfully. One day his parents even heard him tell a friend "Mom and dad will just buy me more."
And so the boy would have continued growing up, if not for one incident. One morning Anton woke up, looked in his toy box — and found nothing there. Only an old toy train lay there, a Soviet-era one at that.
Anton got scared then and called for his mom.
All your toys have left, Anton.
Mom shook her head sadly.
What do you mean left? Where to?
He rubbed his nose resentfully and almost started crying. But boys weren't supposed to cry.
To another boy who takes care of his toys.
What should I do?
But mom just shrugged and, heading to the kitchen, remarked:
You need to fix your mistakes yourself.
Anton sat in his room, thought about it — and an idea came to him. He secretly snuck into his father's workshop and borrowed a couple of tubes of paint. He sat down on his carpet, laid out his brushes and started working.
Only a day passed, but the train already looked like new. And the peeling paint on the sides had disappeared. True, both the carpet and Anton were covered in paint too, and the boy was tired. It turned out to be hard work — repairing toys.
And the next day, returning from school, the boy couldn't believe his eyes. A robot was lying on the bed in his room! Anton jumped joyfully to the toy box, and it was full again.
From then on he never broke or lost his toys again. And whatever he broke accidentally, he always fixed with his dad's help.
