About the Wise Viola and the Violin That Dreamed of Singing Like a Grand Piano

Author:
An original educational and instructive fairy tale about musical instruments – a grand piano, a viola and a violin, about a musician and about friendship for preschool and junior school children. The fairy tale will tell children that everyone has something unique about them. Suitable for reading during extracurricular classes or bedtime reading.

This story took place in an orchestra where many wonderful instruments played. The main one was an old grand piano, which had performed countless pieces with the musicians. It always stood in the centre of the stage.

A young violin, standing in a duet with the grand piano, dreamed of singing like her older friend. After all, the melody of the grand piano always resonated in the hearts of listeners in a special way.

The violin was very sad about this, often letting down a young violinist, who was as young as herself, during rehearsals with a broken string. One day, after breaking the string once again, she cried bitterly.

Why can't I play like the grand piano, amazing and impressing even the most fastidious music lovers! It stands proudly among the instruments, and I am just one of many violins in the orchestra. I will never be able to play such magical music…

Hearing this, the viola, who always played in the shadow of the grand piano, violins and other instruments, was surprised.

The violin doesn't need to sing like the grand piano, – he said, – the violin is able to captivate with its own song. Every instrument is important. And every violin in the orchestra is unique in its sound and irreplaceable.

But who will remember my song? And everyone will remember the grand piano! Isn't that wonderful, tell me?! So it's special, and we are just one of hundreds of instruments, – the violin replied.

Yes, perhaps we are one of many, – the viola said thoughtfully, – but there will certainly be a soul for whom our song will become the most beloved. And for us, this person will come to the concert. Be yourself, don't try to sing what you're not meant to. Don't let down the young musician who performs wonderful works with your help.

How I wish I could outshine the grand piano today. But I have a broken string. Well, let's have a wonderful concert, viola. Thank you for your support. Oh, if only I could sing just once…– the violin sobbed.

A wonderful concert! Don't be sad, your young maestro will replace the string. Just believe: our moment will come too, the main thing is to sing the way we sing, – the viola encouraged his friend.

After replacing the string of his beloved instrument, the young violinist stepped onto the stage. The old grand piano began to play, the viola sounded, and it was the violin's turn. But she so wanted to play better than the others that her string broke again from the difficult melody. And then the hall froze in bewilderment.

Just one more minute, one more minute, and my violin will sing again. It will sing in a way that no other violin has ever sung. Don't blame her for striving for her dream, she is the best of all, – the musician whispered with a tremor in his voice.

Hearing this, the violin played the familiar melody in a way that no one had ever heard before. She played beautifully, not wanting to let down her maestro. The hall applauded her for a long time, and the eyes of the young artist shone. After all, he believed in the violin, and for him there was no better instrument in the whole world.

The concert ended, and everyone returned to their places.

You were right, dear friend viola, – said the violin, – today everyone heard and loved me for being myself. We are good when we perform our own song and don't strive for what is alien to us. How naive I was, thinking that someone else's song would bring me success. I needlessly broke my strings. I like the sound of the grand piano, but I completely forgot that the violin sings just as beautifully. Being a violin is a great happiness!

Yes, your song today was more wonderful than ever. Bravo, violin! – the viola replied, in every string of which sincere joy for his friend sang.

The viola and violin were friends for many years, performing many concerts. The violin shone, and more and more people came to listen to her. She began to perform as a soloist in wonderful pieces. And now she liked how they sounded in a duet with the grand piano, standing proudly among the other instruments.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the unique music of the soul of each person. Like different instruments, our melodies sound wonderful, but no matter how hard you try, they won't play any other way. That's why it's important to perform your own song. That's the special charm, my young friend.
