In an enchanted winter forest lived a bear. He was wise, kind, and all the animals listened to him.
Mikhail Potapych walks through the forest and hums a little song:
The beauty of winter in the forest: white snow everywhere.
It looks just like sugar.
I will eat it!
A little white hare hops towards the bear and politely asks:
Mikhail Potapych, how are you planning to celebrate New Year?
I'll decorate the forest beauty, get my honey reserves, and definitely catch some fish. I want it to be like people do!
The bear answered.
Well, what about you?
Most likely not at all. I have no idea how to celebrate it!
The little hare said sadly.
I can teach you, would you like that?
Asked the bear.
Oh, can you? Of course, I would!
The little hare jumped with joy.
So they decided to celebrate New Year together.
The bear went winter fishing, and the hare decided to decorate the tree.
Meeting the long-awaited holiday right at midnight, they danced in a circle, sang songs. They were happy. Tired, they went to sleep.
In the morning, when the hare woke up, he saw a gift under the New Year tree. On it in large letters was written: "For Mikhail Potapych".
The hare ran around the tree, but couldn't find a gift for himself. Upset, he decided to find Father Frost and correct this injustice.
The hare ran through the forest all day, but couldn't find Father Frost anywhere.
The hare was upset and was about to run back home, but saw a magical little house. The hare decided to go in to rest and warm up.
How lucky he was! This was Father Frost's residence.
At first the hare didn't dare wake up Grandfather, but he wanted a gift so much that he gathered courage and asked:
Dear Grandfather Frost, under the New Year tree we only found a gift for the bear, but there was nothing for me! Is that fair?
The old man got angry, he didn't like the hare's behaviour at all, but remembering that today was a big holiday, he decided to simply explain:
Most likely your gift got lost somewhere, because with this wonderful holiday coming, there's been so much work and worry! I promise we'll fix this mistake. If I don't find it, we'll make a new one in my workshop. You will definitely get it, because on this holiday no one is left without a present. We'll deliver it under Mikhail Potapych's tree.
The happy hare set off to the bear. They continued celebrating New Year, now they just had to wait until the next morning to find out what kind of interesting gift Grandfather Frost had prepared for the little hare…
