How Sukhrik Helped the Dragonfly

Author:
An original educational fairy tale script intended for children of senior preschool age, 5-6 years old. It tells the story of friendship between forest animals, a young mouse and a dragonfly, and their mutual helpfulness.

On a hot summer day, Sukhrik woke up early in the morning and ran to the flower meadow. He wanted to see if there was still dew on the flowers so he could wash his little face with fresh, fragrant droplets. After all, a young mouse only needs one droplet to wash up.

The meadow was filled with colourful flowers: bluebells, buttercups, clover, wild carnations, cornflowers, and daisies. The bright sun had already warmed the plants and earth with its hot rays, and all the dew drops had dried up. Sukhrik felt a bit disappointed.

Where can I wash up now?

He thought, when suddenly he noticed a large dragonfly with beautiful, colourful, long wings sitting on a tall blade of grass and swaying in the gentle breeze. She had lowered her head and looked very sad.

What's your name and why are you so sad?

Asked the young mouse.

My name is Dusey, and how could I not be sad.

Answered the Dragonfly.

I had a little mirror, I really loved looking at my reflection. I was fluttering from flower to flower, and it accidentally fell into the grass. I can't find my lost mirror anywhere.

Complained Dusey.

Let me help you!

Offered the young mouse, and began searching through the grass with his tiny paws for the mirror. He searched and looked, but couldn't find the little mirror in the thick grass. The flower meadow was large, and it was unknown where Dusey had dropped it.

The dragonfly sighed and became even sadder.

How will I live without my little mirror now.

She whimpered.

Don't worry! I've thought of something. I have an idea. I was just heading to the river to wash up, so you fly after me.

Squeaked the young mouse and quickly scurried on his tiny paws, reaching the river very quickly. The dragonfly rushed into flight, flapped her large wings several times, and also found herself on the shore.

Look down at the water—you can see your reflection in the river! Look how beautiful you are, Dusey, what huge eyes you have, how your silvery wings shimmer in the sun. You're very graceful and look like a little light helicopter.

Cried out the young mouse.

Oh, I don't even need a mirror now.

Rejoiced the dragonfly.

And she lowered herself close to the water to see her reflection and examine herself better.

The young mouse scooped up clean water with his paws and began washing his little grey face.

Thank you so much, Sukhrik. How wonderful that you helped me and told me about the river. Now I'll know where I can see my reflection and admire my beauty.

And so the Dragonfly still flies over the water to this day. Now she rises, now she descends. Now she rises, now she descends.... And she keeps looking and looking at her reflection. She can't get enough of it.

And Sukhrik, refreshed by the cool river water, ran home. He hurried to his beloved mother to tell her about his new acquaintance. He was happy that he had helped the dragonfly Dusey. After all, every good deed done for others always comes back.
