In a huge mathematical kingdom there lived numbers and shapes of different forms. They always lived together and there was never any reason for quarrels.
One day, Five and Rectangle couldn't divide the space in the notebook and had a fight.
Then everyone decided together to split into two states: the "State of Numbers" and the "State of Geometric Shapes".
I'm sure we take up more space.
Five said.
We won't argue.
Rectangle replied.
We'll build two empires, and there will be enough space for everyone!
Five reasoned.
Numbers will live independently, and geometric shapes will be on their own too.
And so they built two states. On the right side of the notebook live the numbers, and on the left – the geometric shapes. They felt great! The notebook pages are large, there's no need to share space.
One fine morning, a rectangle needed to be drawn, but no one understood what size it should be. The numbers weren't there – they lived in another state.
At that moment, Five and Rectangle understood that they couldn't live apart.
Then they built a bridge and started visiting each other often. They easily drew a rectangle with the right dimensions and did all the calculations for finding the area.
From that moment on, numbers and geometric shapes live in peace and harmony and cannot do without each other.
