In the beautiful city of Novgorod lived a girl named Masha. She was only seven years old. She was visiting her grandmother, not far from the central square of the city, where a Christmas tree was set up every New Year's holiday.
The girl would go out onto the balcony and watch the beautiful festive lights for hours. But she was sad. She missed her parents very much, who were in isolation because of the coronavirus. The most anticipated holiday would be spent apart, not together.
Only a few hours remained until New Year's. The girl and her grandmother went out to the square, where people were celebrating. At the Christmas tree, Snow Maiden, the helper of Father Frost, approached Masha.
Why are you so sad and not coming to get a gift from grandfather?
Asked the Snow Maiden.
He has a surprise prepared for everyone and, of course, lots of sweets!
I don't want New Year's without my mom and dad.
Answered the girl.
On this holiday, I know how to make everyone happy. I will help you. Take this magic snowflake. Two minutes before the clock strikes midnight, make a cherished wish and melt the snowflake with your warmth.
Returning home, Masha placed the snowflake outside the window and began to wait impatiently for the approaching New Year. When only two minutes remained until midnight, the girl took the snowflake in her palm, quickly thought about seeing her parents.
From Masha's warmth, the snowflake turned into a drop of water, and her grandmother entered the room, holding a beautiful little box.
Your mom and dad are giving you a new phone. Now you can easily call them and chat via video call.
At that moment, Masha was the happiest child. She dialled her mom's number and not only heard but also clearly saw her beloved parents.
Grandmother sat in her armchair and watched the incredibly joyful girl and her equally happy parents.
She was over the moon with happiness, because despite the obstacles, they were all together again celebrating New Year's!
May all of your cherished wishes come true too!
