Long, long ago there existed two worlds: the world of dragons and the world of humans. These two worlds never intersected. Each had its own rulers. Several years ago, they agreed that they would not interfere in each other's worlds, but would live on their own territories. This agreement continued to be honoured over many long years.
In the world of dragons ruled Queen Dragon, who possessed powerful magical powers. But she rarely used them. She had a little son called Drakosh. And like all little ones, he was very disobedient.
One day he was walking through the forest and crossed the boundary of the dragon world. He found himself in the world of humans. And Drakosh really enjoyed watching how people lived. The little dragon began to visit the world of humans quite often, but he always tried to remain unnoticed.
When Drakosh's mum found out that her son was going to the other side, she was furious.
You must not go to the world of humans.
The dragon queen said sternly.
But why, Mum? It's so interesting there, you can't even imagine...
Drakosh began to say.
You can't. We are forbidden entry to the world of humans, and they are forbidden entry to our world. That's final.
Drakosh's mum said sternly and left.
Drakosh was upset. For several days he didn't go to the world of humans, but then he disobeyed his mum anyway and began to visit the wonderful world of humans again from time to time.
In the world of humans at that time ruled the wise King Charles. He had a daughter who was unusually clever for her years, and she loved to read books whilst sitting in the garden. From here she had a view of the central square, and from time to time she would watch what was happening there.
At the king's court served knights who protected the world from attacks. In this army served the knight Diddle. He dreamed of becoming famous through his deeds. Only he couldn't seem to accomplish them like everyone else. And he so wanted to stand out.
One day, whilst on patrol as usual, Diddle noticed an unusual creature in the thick bushes. It was Drakosh. The guard caught the unusual beast and began to mock it. Then he put the little dragon in a cage and took it to the square. People came to look at the little dragon, many threw stones into the cage. And little rowdy boys even poked the small living creature with sticks.
The Princess, seeing this, ran straight to the square and took the cage with the little dragon. She set him free, and Drakosh immediately rushed back to his world. When he got home, he told his mum what had happened to him. She scolded him for disobeying her yet again, and decided to punish her son's offender herself.
She used her unprecedented magical power and placed a terrible curse on the one who had hurt her little son, Drakosh. The knight in an instant transformed from a handsome young man into a hideous creature. Only the princess who had saved Drakosh could save him.
Drakosh was punished for his disobedience and never again went to the world of humans, having learned a harsh lesson. Diddle, having become a small ugly dwarf, became the subject of ridicule and abuse from the people around him. Everyone hurt him, because he was defenceless. In the end, he, just as he had done to Drakosh, was locked in a cage and left in the square, where anyone who wished could throw a stone at him or laugh at him to their heart's content.
The Princess, who was once again sitting in the garden reading a book, saw the outrage that was taking place in the square. She went to her father and told him what she had seen. The King immediately issued a Decree that forbade the placing of cages with any creatures in the square and even more so mistreating them.
The Princess then went to the square and freed the dwarf. And at the moment when Diddle came out of the cage, he became a handsome young man again. Thus Diddle was punished for his wrongdoing and understood that one must not hurt those who are smaller and weaker than you.
