In a dark, cramped little burrow
Lived a mouse named Georgie.
Often he'd escape from home
And squeak throughout the building:
"I've come out for a little walk –
Who wants to come and play with me?"
Georgie's mum would catch him quick
And teach him all the rules so strict:
"Don't squeak so loud, my little dear,
We're surrounded by enemies here.
A cat named Vasya lives nearby —
A rogue and a dreadful fellow, my!"
But the little mouse won't obey,
He only wants to run and play.
One day old Vasya the cat
Almost caught him—imagine that!
Georgie dashed into his hole
And hid away in his safe soul.
Now Georgie walks with mum each day,
The most obedient mouse, I'd say.
