Once upon a time a tiger cub came to be.
He was as lovely as a little child.
And his mum and dad were proud as could be,
Not knowing what he'd grow to be, though wild.
And the tiger cub grew up, he loved to play the fool,
And was always ready to joke with his friends at school.
And so one day this young cub thought he'd have a laugh at Leo's expense,
And what happened next we must ask, it makes perfect sense.
He brought a great big box, and said: 'My friend, do hold this!'
And Leo looked at such a thing, raising his head to not miss.
Leo got up, took it straight away, opened it, grabbed it and cried out.
There was a cactus there, it drove its spike in, and Leo gave a shout.
The tiger cub laughed till he couldn't breathe, holding his belly tight, and Leo looked on sadly.
'Why did you do that? It hurts me so!' But his friend lay laughing madly.
Leo put down the box, and took the cactus with him as he went.
He walked away into the distance, filled with hurt and discontent.
The tiger cub stood up, he saw the lion, walking there by the hill.
He ran after him, caught up with him, stood before him still.
His friend had tears upon his cheeks, the tiger cub could see.
He hugged the lion and said: 'Forgive me, I'm ashamed, you see!'
From that day on the tiger cub became a different kind,
He joked, but with more kindness in his mind.
He became such a friend to Leo dear,
And life became much brighter and more clear.
