In a far-off kingdom, in a distant realm, there lived a king. And he had three daughters. Three beloved princesses. But the king was always troubled, and he was very displeased that his beautiful daughters constantly did not get along with one another and argued. They quarrelled always and everywhere: at dinner, on walks, when visiting others.
One day, during yet another row, something unprecedented occurred. Outside the window it suddenly became dark, a terrible thunderstorm broke out, and a bright lightning bolt struck. And the princesses transformed... into dogs.
In the evening, before bed, the king went to his daughters to wish them sweet dreams. But his beloved daughters were not there; instead, three little dogs sat in their place. The king could not imagine that these were his beloved princesses and drove them out of the kingdom.
The princesses wandered about the countryside for a long time until they stumbled into a great, dense forest. Everything here was new and unfamiliar to them. One sister-dog got her paw stuck in a tree crevice. No matter how hard she tried to pull it out, nothing worked.
Unexpectedly, another sister-dog approached her. She felt such pity for her sister that, without hesitation, she helped pull her paw free. Oh, a miracle!!! The dog that had offered help immediately transformed back into a girl!
And so they continued on. Two dogs walked ahead, and behind them came a girl-princess. Suddenly, an old man with a large basket of mushrooms appeared in their path. The old man suddenly caught his foot on a branch, fell, and the basket of mushrooms scattered all across the clearing.
One of the dogs quickly rushed to help the old man. She gave him her paw and the old man got up. The dog picked up the basket and gathered all the mushrooms. The old man expressed his gratitude, and once again an unprecedented miracle occurred: the dog transformed into a princess.
Now two sister-princesses walked along, and one dog. But suddenly the dog pricked up her ears: somewhere far away, someone was crying. She quickly rushed towards the sound of weeping. On a small stump sat a little boy. He was very frightened, all alone, and was crying because he did not know how to find his way out of the thick, dense forest.
The dog's heart ached with pity for the boy. The dog showed him the way, accompanying him all the way home. And once again a miracle occurred! In that very instant, the last dog became a girl-princess.
The three sisters set off for their kingdom. They had missed their father the king very much, so they told him all about their adventures.
The king was delighted at the return of his daughters and made them promise that they would never quarrel or argue again.
And the adventure became a good lesson for the sisters.
