About a New Year's Gift for a Friend

Author:
A New Year's fairy tale about a Little Bear who didn't know what to give his friend Little Hare for New Year! Father Frost and Snow Maiden helped him. Suitable for boys.

Our New Year's story took place in the most magical forest, or rather, in a school for little animals.

Father Frost decided to arrange a celebration for the little creatures. Little Hare and Little Bear heard about it. By the way, they had been friends since childhood, all because they grew up in neighbouring burrows.

Then the little hare said:

Can you imagine, Mishutka, how wonderful that Father Frost is arranging a celebration.

From joy, he even drummed his paws on the table.

Everyone will sing, have fun and give each other gifts. And I, by the way, have already prepared a gift for you.

Little Hare became rather proud at these words.

But Little Bear, on the other hand, became sad, but didn't show it.

And I've already thought of what I'll give you for New Year.

He agreed.

We'll have such fun at the celebration.

And the friends set off home, discussing their carnival costumes all the way to their doors. The friends agreed to dress not as any fairy-tale characters, but as each other. After all, they were truly best friends.

When he got home, Little Bear sat down and thought hard.

His mother, the she-bear, became concerned and asked him:

Why are you so sad, Mishutka, has something happened?

And Little Bear told her everything: how Father Frost decided to arrange a celebration at their school; how he and Little Hare decided to dress as each other and how he can't even imagine what he could give his friend, and yet his friend's gift has been ready for ages.

Don't worry, Mishutka, instead ask all your friends, maybe they can give you some advice.

The she-bear tried to comfort him.

They decided on that. The she-bear fed Little Bear a delicious lunch and let him go for a walk.

Mishutka thought for a long time about who to visit. He thought and thought, and first of all decided to go to Squirrel. Well, after all, she is, by the way, very similar to Little Hare. She's just as nimble and always jumping about, maybe she can suggest what to give his friend.

Hello, Squirrel.

Little Bear greeted politely.

Please help me think of a gift for Little Hare.

Oh, is that really so difficult.

Squirrel replied cheerfully.

Give him lots of pine cones or nuts.

Thank you, but I think that's not what Little Hare wants to receive for New Year.

He thanked Squirrel sincerely, but somewhat sadly.

Mishutka even dared to go to Wolf, so much did he want to please his friend with a gift:

Respected Wolf, what would you give a friend?

Oh-oh-oh.

Wolf rolled his eyes dreamily.

I would give a small, plump little pig.

Little Bear got frightened and ran away as fast as he could. He understood that he wouldn't get any advice here either. There was nothing for it, he had to move on.

And he decided to go to Fox:

She certainly knows about gifts.

He thought.

When he finally found Fox, he blurted out:

Foxy, what would you give a friend?

That's very simple.

She laughed at Little Bear.

I would give a beautiful mirror to admire oneself in, and a comb to keep one's fur in order.

Thank you, Fox.

Little Bear thanked her because he was very polite and moved on.

He thought and thought about who else to ask, but realised it was all useless. Everyone suggests the gift they would like themselves, and none of them would suit Little Hare.

Little Bear became very upset, downhearted, and he had only one option left to think of a gift for his friend.

I'll go to Snow Maiden.

He exclaimed.

She'll definitely help me.

He walked and walked, and then from behind the trees appeared Father Frost's mansion, and what luck, Snow Maiden was just on the porch chatting with snowmen. She noticed Mishutka from afar.

Hello.

She greeted him.

I already know about your problem, I've been waiting for you, come on, Grandfather Frost and I thought of a gift for Little Hare long ago.

How happy Little Bear was when that gift turned out to be a huge toy carrot.

And so, at last, the day of the New Year celebration arrived. Little Hare gave Mishutka a barrel of delicious honey and was very pleased when he saw his gift.

Now I can not only eat the carrot, but even hug it instead of a pillow and play with it.

He couldn't hide his delight.

Thus, the friends not only had a wonderful school celebration, but also delighted each other with their gifts, all because they tried so hard to choose them.
