In the beautiful city of Novgorod there lived a girl named Masha. She was only seven years old. She was staying with her grandmother, not far from the central square of the city, where a Christmas tree was set up during every New Year celebration.
The girl would go out onto the balcony and watch the beautiful festive lights for hours. But she was sad. She missed her parents very much, who were in isolation because of coronavirus. The most eagerly awaited holiday would be spent apart, not together.
There were only a few hours left until New Year. The girl and her grandmother went out to the square, where people were celebrating. At the Christmas tree, Snegurochka, Father Frost's helper, approached little Masha.
Why are you so sad and not coming to get a gift from grandfather?
Asked Snegurochka.
He has prepared a surprise for everyone and, of course, lots of sweets!
I don't want New Year without Mum and Dad.
Replied the girl.
On this holiday, I know how to make everyone happy. I will help you. Here, take this magical snowflake. Two minutes before the clock strikes midnight, make a cherished wish, melt the snowflake with your warmth.
When she got home, Masha placed the snowflake outside the window and waited impatiently for the approaching New Year. When there were only two minutes left until midnight, the girl took the snowflake in her palm, quickly thought about seeing her parents.
From Masha's warmth the snowflake turned into a drop of water, and her grandmother entered the room, holding a beautiful box in her hands.
Your mum and dad are giving you a new mobile phone, now you can easily call them and chat via video call.
At that moment Masha was the happiest child. She dialled her mum's number and not only heard but also saw her beloved parents perfectly.
Grandmother sat in her armchair and watched the incredibly joyful girl and her equally happy parents.
She was over the moon with happiness, because despite the obstacles, they were all together again celebrating New Year!
May all your cherished wishes come true as well!
