Once upon a time there was a goat and seven kid goats. It was hard for her to raise the children on her own, she worked in show business, sang, but her creative career wasn't going well, she barely made ends meet. The only time she placed first in some competition and was given a prize of a brand new Mazda, which helped her a lot with the household and the kid goats.
The goat had to work without days off. On weekdays she took the kid goats to daycare. But what to do with them on weekends? The goat's parents lived in the village, worked on a cabbage farm and couldn't help their daughter, and besides they were offended that she married a goat and moved to the city.
So she had to leave the kid goats in the apartment alone, turned on cartoons on the television and went to work, strictly forbidding anyone to open the door because there could be thieves. During the weekends the goat came home only to feed the children.
When the goat returned, she would ring the intercom and sing:
Kid goats, little ones!
Open up, unlock the door!
Your mommy has come home
Brought you some milk.
The kid goats would hear their mother's voice on the intercom, open the automatic door. The goat would feed and water them and go back to sing in show business.
She wasn't wrong to be afraid, in that neighbourhood a lonely wolf made his living by theft. He rode on a black Harley, spotted the goat, so fashionable, a rising star, in a new beautiful car. The Wolf decided to rob the goat's apartment, thinking she was rich.
He heard her singing at the door and decided to do the same, ran up to the house, rang the intercom and shouted:
Kid goats, little ones!
Open up, unlock the door!
Your mommy has come home
Brought you some milk.
Hearing the wolf's hoarse voice, the kid goats understood it wasn't their mother and didn't open the door.
The wolf looked at this situation, thought about it and went to a vocal coach who trained his voice to be thin and high-pitched, exactly like the goat's.
He got on his motorcycle, drove up to the house, hid around the corner and saw the goat leaving, giving instructions to the kid goats that if anyone else rang the door and shouted in a hoarse voice, they should immediately call the police.
A minute after the goat left, the wolf was already ringing the house and singing in a thin little voice:
Kid goats, little ones!
Open up, unlock the door!
Your mommy has come home
Brought you some milk.
The kid goats believed him and opened the door. The wolf ran into the apartment and saw that there was nothing to take from the goat except the television with cartoons. She turned out not to be as rich as the thief had imagined. The wolf decided to take the kid goats. What if someone needed them?! He wasn't planning to eat them because he was a vegetarian. He took all of them except the smallest one, who crawled into the oven and the wolf didn't find him.
When the goat came home, no one opened the door for her, and in the empty apartment she found only the youngest kid goat in the oven.
She stood at the door crying bitterly, searching in her purse for her mobile phone, thinking of calling the police. And then she saw a wolf pull up to the house on a Harley with six kid goats, all in protective helmets, happy, rushing to hug and kiss their mother.
They told the wolf about their difficult life, that they were growing up without a father, didn't see their mother, how she was buried in work all day. The wolf felt sorry for them because he himself grew up without parents, and decided to help the goat raise the little ones.
The goat agreed, but on the condition that the wolf would stop drifting and stealing and take up something socially useful. He agreed because he was tired of his dangerous and lonely way of life.
And so they all lived together. The goat gave up her career, took care of the house and her kid goats. And the wolf himself began to sing, quite successfully at that, and was quite happy that he found his calling and gained a real family.
