In a wonderful forest there lived a fox. Her home wasn't very large, but it was very cozy. Her little house didn't have fancy furniture, and the fox herself lived quite ordinarily, but despite this, several times a year she would definitely fly to some new country for a vacation.
Sometimes she would go to Goa to do yoga, sometimes splash around in the clear waters of the ocean in the Maldives, sometimes ride elephants in Sri Lanka. And quite often the fox would go away for weekends to Egypt, just to lie in the sun and warm her reddish sides.
But the fox had a dream — she really wanted to meet a real prince who would live with her, take her on vacation abroad, manage the household, love her and protect her. After all, it was very hard for her to earn money and live alone.
And on the other end of the forest there lived a crane — wealthy, handsome and fine. His house was full of abundance — fancy furniture, a powerful home cinema covering an entire wall, computers, alarm systems. The crane was in business, and not just any business, but the most profitable kind. Every week he changed mobile phones as soon as new models came out, the crane would go to the store and buy them right away.
And the crane also loved to eat well. He never flew anywhere, believing that travel was an empty and uninteresting waste of time. But if the refrigerator was full of delicacies, then life had truly succeeded. But the crane had no wife — nothing was right, either he'd find one too temperamental, or one who couldn't cook.
One day the fox decided to test her luck and find herself a worthy husband. On a quiet, cold, winter evening, she settled comfortably in her armchair, turned on her old computer, and registered on a dating website.
W-e-l-l, let's see who we have here.
The fox muttered to herself.
Aha, a wolf. Young, and he has a nice car, and his own business, let me try to get to know him.
The fox took out her old mobile phone and dialled the number listed in his profile.
Good day! My name is Lisitsia.
The fox said in an official voice.
On the other end of the phone came a growling calm voice. The wolf told her a bit about himself, and the fox decided to arrange a meeting. After getting to know each other, the fox decided she could marry the wolf. He courted her, cooked food for her, and served her meals in a comfortable bowl, so the fox didn't even have to turn her neck.
She, for her part, also took care of the wolf — she ironed his shirts, tied his ties, and cooked food. But she served the food on such small plates that the wolf wasn't always full. But the wolf loved the fox so much and didn't worry about it, after all, small portions aren't bad, eating too much is harmful.
But after several months the fox told the wolf that they needed to move back to their separate homes, the wolf wasn't her prince. After all, she wanted to rest at expensive resorts, and the wolf hadn't taken her further than Egypt yet.
Wait a little bit, little fox, soon I'll become richer, I'll open my own business, and we'll fly wherever you want.
No, I can't wait. I'd rather find myself a new husband.
The fox opened the dating site again, scrolled through profiles for a long time and finally came across a photo of the crane, the very one who lived on the other end of the forest.
Hmm, interesting.
The fox said.
What an interesting gentleman. Young, incredibly handsome, tall, slim, and rich too. This one will definitely take me to the Seychelles Islands for vacation. I'll call him and arrange a meeting.
Several months after meeting the crane, the fox and crane had a wedding and began to live together.
Crane dear, when will we fly somewhere to warm lands?
The fox asked.
It's cold outside, frost, maybe we'll head to the Seychelles Islands?
What would we do there?
The crane chuckled maliciously.
You'd better feed me well, I'm always hungry.
And that's not surprising, because the fox puts food on flat little plates. The crane pecks with his beak, pecks, but can't get full. And nothing works out for them, a happy life: the crane is hungry, and the fox dreams of travel.
And then the fox remembered how well she lived with the wolf. Although he wasn't rich, he never went hungry. And he liked the flat plates, and he courted Lisitsia, and even took her to Egypt by the sea so she could warm her reddish sides.
But trouble came — the wolf has been living with a she-wolf for a long time now, raising little cubs, earning lots of money and vacationing by the sea every month.
And so the fox remained alone, in her little house.
