Our New Year's story took place in the most magical forest, or more precisely, in a school for small animals.
Grandfather Frost decided to arrange a celebration for the little creatures. The little rabbit and the little bear heard about it. By the way, they had been friends since childhood, all because they grew up in neighbouring burrows.
Then the little rabbit said:
Can you imagine, Mishutka, how wonderful that Grandfather Frost is arranging a celebration.
From joy, he even drummed his paws on the table.
Everyone will sing, have fun and give each other gifts. And I, by the way, have already prepared a gift for you.
The little rabbit got a bit proud at these words.
But the little bear, on the other hand, became sad, but didn't show it.
And I've already thought of what I'll give you for New Year's.
He agreed.
We'll have such fun at the celebration.
And the friends headed home, discussing their carnival costumes all the way to their doors. The friends agreed to dress not as any fairy tale characters, but as each other. After all, they were truly best friends.
When he got home, the little bear sat down and thought hard.
His mother, the she-bear, became concerned and asked him:
Why are you so sad, Mishutka, has something happened?
And the little bear told her everything: how Grandfather Frost decided to arrange a celebration at their school; how he and the little rabbit decided to dress as each other and how he can't even imagine what to give his friend, and yet his friend's gift has been ready for ages.
Don't worry, Mishutka, instead ask all your friends, maybe they can give you some advice.
The she-bear tried to comfort him.
They decided on that. The she-bear fed the little bear a delicious lunch and let him go for a walk.
The little bear thought for a long time about who to visit. He thought and thought, and first of all decided to go to the squirrel. Well, after all, she is, by the way, very similar to the little rabbit. She's just as quick and always jumping, maybe she can suggest what to give a friend.
Hi, Squirrel.
The little bear greeted politely.
Please help me think of a gift for the little rabbit.
Oh, is that really difficult?
She replied cheerfully.
Give him plenty of pine cones or nuts.
Thank you, but I think that's not what the little rabbit wants to get for New Year's.
He thanked the squirrel sincerely, but somewhat sadly.
Mishutka even dared to go to the Wolf, so much did he want to please his friend with a gift:
Respected Wolf, what would you give to a friend?
Oh-oh-oh.
The Wolf rolled his eyes dreamily.
I would give a small, plump little pig.
Mishutka got scared and ran away as fast as he could. He understood that he wouldn't get any advice here either. There was nothing to do but move on.
And he decided to go to the Fox:
She definitely knows about gifts.
He thought.
When he finally found the Fox, he immediately blurted out:
Foxy, what would you give to a friend?
It's very simple.
She laughed at the little bear.
I would give a beautiful mirror to admire oneself in, and a comb to keep one's fur in order.
Thank you, Foxy.
Mishutka thanked her because he was very polite and moved on.
He thought and thought about who else to ask, but realized that all this was useless. Everyone suggests the gift they would want themselves, and none of them would suit the little rabbit.
Mishutka became very upset, discouraged, and he had only one way left to think of a gift for his friend.
I'll go to the Snow Maiden.
He exclaimed.
She will definitely help me.
He walked and walked, and then from behind the trees appeared Grandfather Frost's mansion, and what luck, the Snow Maiden was right there on the porch talking to snowmen. She noticed Mishutka from afar.
Hi.
She greeted him.
I already know about your problem, I was just waiting for you, come on, Grandfather Frost and I thought of a gift for the little rabbit long ago.
How happy Mishutka was when the gift turned out to be a huge toy carrot.
And finally, the day of the New Year's celebration arrived. The little rabbit gave Mishutka a barrel of delicious honey and was very happy when he saw his gift.
Now I can not only eat the carrot, but even hug it instead of a pillow and play with it.
He couldn't hide his delight.
Thus, the friends not only had a wonderful school celebration, but also made each other very happy with their gifts, all because they tried so hard to choose them.
Read fairy tales and you will always know what to give a friend for New Year's!
