Our New Year's story took place in the most magical forest, or rather, in a school for little animals.
Grandfather Frost decided to arrange a holiday for the little creatures. Little Rabbit and Little Bear heard about it. By the way, they had been friends since childhood, all because they grew up in neighboring burrows.
Then the little rabbit said:
Imagine, Mishutka, how wonderful that Grandfather Frost will arrange a holiday.
From joy, he even drummed his paws on the table.
Everyone will sing, have fun and give each other gifts. And I, by the way, have already prepared a gift for you.
Little Rabbit got a bit proud at these words.
But Little Bear, on the contrary, became sad, but didn't show it.
And I've already thought of what I'll give you for the New Year.
He agreed.
We'll have so much fun at the holiday.
And the friends went home, discussing their carnival costumes all the way to their doors. The friends agreed to dress not as any fairy tale characters, but as each other. After all, they were truly best friends.
When he got home, Little Bear sat down and thought hard.
His mother, the she-bear, became worried about this and asked him:
Why are you so sad, Mishutka, did something happen?
And Little Bear told her everything: how Grandfather Frost decided to arrange a holiday at their school; how he and Little Rabbit decided to dress as each other and how he can't even imagine what to give his friend, and yet that friend already has a gift ready.
Don't worry, Mishutka, but rather ask all your friends, maybe they can give you some advice.
The she-bear tried to comfort him.
They decided on that. The she-bear fed Little Bear a delicious lunch and let him go play.
Little Bear thought for a long time about who to visit. He thought and thought, and first of all decided to go to Squirrel. Well, after all, she is very similar to Little Rabbit. She's just as quick and jumps all the time, maybe she can suggest what to give his friend.
Hi, Squirrel.
Little Bear greeted politely.
Please help me think of a gift for Little Rabbit.
Oh, is that really difficult?
She replied cheerfully.
Give him plenty of pine cones or nuts.
Thank you, but I think that's not what Little Rabbit wants to get for the New Year.
He thanked Squirrel sincerely, but somewhat sadly.
Little Bear even dared to go to Wolf, so much did he want to please his friend with a gift:
Respected Wolf, what would you give to a friend?
Oh-oh-oh.
Wolf rolled his eyes dreamily.
I would give a small, plump little pig.
Little Bear got scared and ran away as fast as he could. He understood that he wouldn't get any advice here either. There was nothing to do but move on.
And he decided to go to Fox:
She definitely understands gifts.
He thought.
When he finally found Fox, he immediately blurted out:
Foxy, what would you give to your friend?
That's very simple.
She laughed at Little Bear.
I would give a beautiful mirror to admire myself in, and a comb to keep my fur in order.
Thank you, Foxy.
Little Bear thanked her because he was very polite and moved on.
He thought and thought about who else to ask, but realized that all this was useless. Everyone suggests the gift they would want themselves, and none of them would suit Little Rabbit.
Little Bear became very upset and sad, and he had only one way left to think of a gift for his friend.
I'll go to Snow Maiden.
He exclaimed.
She will definitely help me.
He walked and walked, and then from behind the trees appeared Grandfather Frost's mansion, and what luck, Snow Maiden was just on the porch chatting with snowmen. She noticed Little Bear from afar.
Hi.
She greeted him.
I already know about your problem, I was just waiting for you. Come on, Grandfather Frost and I thought of a gift for Little Rabbit long ago.
How happy Little Bear was when that gift turned out to be a huge toy carrot.
And finally, the day of the New Year's holiday arrived. Little Rabbit gave Little Bear a barrel of delicious honey and was very happy when he saw his gift.
Now I can not only eat the carrot, but even hug it instead of a pillow and play with it.
He couldn't hide his delight.
Thus, the friends not only had a great school holiday, but also made each other very happy with their gifts, all because they tried hard to choose them.
Read fairy tales and you will always know what to give a friend for the New Year!
